Sometimes Simple is Just Great!

Today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary! Amazing how quickly time flies, I don't FEEL like it was 9 years ago that I was putting on my dress and walking down a rose petal aisle (all teary) to marry Thad. But at the same time it feels like we've always been together.

We've had some fun anniversary celebrations over the years. Our first anniversary we went to San Francisco for a weekend (we were living in Oceanside/San Diego at the time). I believe our second anniversary we went to Las Vegas for the weekend (again, we were living in Southern California so an easy weekend trip). Our fifth anniversary trip was to Cancun for 5 days.

This year we played it simple, yet had a perfectly lovely day together. Thad had to work today, but we went out to lunch to our new favorite place to grab a healthy (and yummy!) bite close to home - the Tuscan Cafe in South Lyon. They get daily delivery of Zingerman's bread and make about a dozen Zingerman's style sandwiches - I had a delicious turkey, avocado, sprouts and sundried tomato on rye and Thad had a roast beef one and some italian wedding soup.  We sat and talked, then drove by the library, picked up a couple books and a DVD and headed home. I know it sounds silly, but we love doing those simple things together! Our presents to each other - Thad got a new natural rubber yoga mat and I got a gift certificate for a massage - both things we will each enjoy, and a further testament to how much we've changed our lives this year.
